A Defense of Merida's character

Last weekend, I made a podcast. Unfortunately, I cannot post it to Word Press without upgrading to the $100 Premium Package. Yes, I am thrifty when I can be. To make up for this, I will now post the entire script to that podcast as today’s blog except for the beginning in which I apologized for the low sound quality and the voice-based joke at the end.
In 2012, Pixar released the movie Brave. Its lead character Merida quickly became the subject of controversy. Some people felt she was a great role model for little girls by not following the norms of her time. Others say she was just a spoiled brat, willing to single-handedly cause a civil war just for her own selfish purposes. There is definitely some truth to both of these ways of thinking, but I am going to tackle these complaints to prove that Merida is a great character.
